All is not well in the United Kingdom, it would seem. The recent suicide bombing in Tel Aviv has shed more light on the not-so-hidden fifth column of al-Qaeda operatives and supporters residing within the British Isles. As it turns out, the suicide bombing was not the work of Hamas or the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, but rather of al-Muhajiroun, a UK-based organization that serves as a recruiting front for the terrorist network. And to make things even more interesting, the suicide bomber worked at Heathrow Airport, the site of a recent terrorism alert.
To further highlight the threat, al-Muhajiroun is claiming that it has another 50 suicide bombers ready to go. If one couples that with the fact that the Tel Aviv suicide bomber was associated with the Finsbury Park Mosque, the late base for Sheikh Abu Hamza al-Masri whose members have included such notables as Richard Reid and Zacarias Moussaoui. This would mean that the suicide bombing in Tel Aviv was not simply a part of the ongoing struggle between the Israelis and the Palestinians but rather an al-Qaeda operation that was likely intended to undermine the authority of Abu Mazen as a means of restarting the Palestinian terrorist attacks that dominated the headlines throughout much of early 2002.
The bottom line is that Sharon was right: al-Qaeda has indeed decided to attack Israel proper. And it is apparently using the United Kingdom as a base from which to do so. Both of these are rather disconcerting developments.

I noticed that Islam Online refers to the murders in Tel-Aviv as a, gag, "self-bombing."

====================I think this development is in fact excellent. I think it will force some re-orientation in MI-5 & 6. Also it will strengthen Blair if he decides to be more supportive of Israel.
It is also a sure sign the road map is DOA. And not from a directly Palestinian source.
In addition the fiction that Israeli terror is different from other terror is not so easy to support.

I agree. When the coalition net was closing around Saddam, Arafat felt moved to publically distance his movement from Saddam. Now he may feel it necessary to publically distance his movement from Al Qeda. Having to say to his fellow Arab fanatics "I don't want your support" already puts him in the position of guilt by association.
Sure Arafat will publicly distance himself from al Qaida…...that's the pragmatic thing to do and he's always done the pragmatic thing.
