Winds of Change.NET Regional Briefings run on Tuesdays & Wednesdays, and sometimes Fridays too. This Regional Briefing focuses on South Asia and South East Asia, courtesy of Robi Sen.
Today's Topics Include: China and India meet; do Pakistan and India need a Road map to peace; Bali arrests; how al-Qaeda operates in SE Asia; and more...
* This has been a very interesting month with China and India meeting and coming to several agreements. But people have many different opinions on the impact of those meetings. Suman Palit ways in as well.
* While Israel and Palestine arguable are making progress on the road to peace it seems so are Pakistan and India with the largest terrorist group agreeing to support peace talks over the Kashmir. While some people have complained about the current US administrations dealing with Pakistan and India perhaps its having a positive effect? Or does the US need to create a Road Map for Pakistan and India?
* Speaking of roadmaps and India, Rajiiv Srinivasan thinks now is a perfect time for India to enter into a strong alliance with Israel.
* The War on Terrorism continues with the arrest of the mastermind of the Bail Bombings in Indonesia monday June 30th. Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia prepare to thwart further Al-Qaeda linked terrorists. Continuing a trend it seems peace agreements are moving forward in many places as MILF and the Philippines take steps forward for peace talks.
* A great resource for information on South East Asia is the South Asia Intelligence Review. This week they look at recent terrorist attacks in India and analyze their significance.
* The Drudge report ran a special story on June 20th with some disturbing insight from Pakistan. Fox News asked President Musharrf if he would be surprised if Osama Bin Laden was located in the next few weeks " No, I wouldn't be surprised, because as I said, in this intelligence work you can have a very fast breakthrough immediately."
* Many people in the West often don't understand how Al-Quaeda is connected or interacts with people and countries in SE Asia.

Here is a article that really did not fit into my briefing but I wonder what other people think of it

Good info there. The past couple of weeks have been very active over in Asia and in the Middle East. I hope it continues on the positive tracks that it's on. I'm sure there's more rough sailing ahead--it's the nature of us as humans. I'm thinking we might all benefit from a little dose of "Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation." :)
