A little ovber 2 years ago, Winds of Change.NET ran a letter from Master Sgt. Romero about what to bring to Afghanistan and how their equipment had performed. That email had caught the attention of the U.S. Soldier Systems Center in Nantick, MA, which was looking to take that feedback and turn it into changes. One of his points was:
"QUALITY SUN GLASSES PROBABLY MORE IMPORTANT WOULD BE SAFETY OR SHOOTING GLASSES BOLLE GOGGLES ARE THE WAY TO GO"
The Brits must have heard similar things. They went and bought some eyewear by Revision International in Montreal, Canada, and gave it to their soldiers serving in Afghanistan. The new eyewear are compatible with military scopes and goggles, fit with their Mk. VI helmets, and feature high-impact interchangeable lenses. DefenseReview.com has more details about the Brits' new shades.
It's a small thing, but if you're a soldier in the field, these small things matter.

But Oakleys are so cool!
