2-MilBlogger Patrol Offers the Line of the Day

Something I was tipped off to by Blackfive, written by Lt. Currie over at Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum. He needs to get a better colour scheme, but the writing in Turning Point is just fine as he describes a recent patrol in Iraq:

"On with the show, so progressing along Thunder6, and I found ourselves on point. This being the place where a man is the first in the formation, the first to move out, and for those of you who watch the old Star Trek, he was the dude in the red shirt that in the script was written as guy who gets killed in scene 1. When LTC F said I was to take point, I looked at him and said; "Sir, you can't put the black guy on point! Don't you watch TV?!?!"

There's lots more, of course, including an an accompanying photo album. Apparently, MilBlogger Major K is also linked to this unit - sounds like the foundation for a TV series, if you ask me.

Joe,
One of the things missing in the current blogger euphoria over the truths the milbloggers brought to much of the American public, are the photo albums almost all posted at one time or another. Nothing is more emotional than the photograph, see your previous posts on those such as Todd Clegg who bring these to us as extremely emotional slide shows with music.
Turning Point's great photo album is another case in point.
G-d bless digital cameras and photo-phones.

Here are some quick tips for adding simple Textile formatting to your comments, though you can also use proper HTML tags:

*This* puts text in bold.

_This_ puts text in italics.

bq. This "bq." at the beginning of a paragraph, flush with the left hand side and with a space after it, is the code to indent one paragraph of text as a block quote.

To add a live URL, "Text to display":http://windsofchange.net/ (no spaces between) will show up as Text to display. Always use this for links - otherwise you will screw up the columns on our main blog page.
