...let me make it clear that I am entirely to blame for the lateness of this week's briefing, and my faithful partner Bill is entirely blameless. I think you'll agree it was worth the wait d8-) evariste, my human shield, thank you. I'll say it was, Evariste! You two do a fantastic job -- thanks so much for the time and care you bring to this feature at Winds of Change.

There was also a bloody jihad against Armenians in Azerbaijian, in the Caucausus. Luckily, Azerbaijani Armenians, instead of being slaughtered like sheep, took arms and stopped the jihad, establishing an independent enclave - Nagorno Karabahk ("Artsakh" in Armenian). The Azeri Islamofascist are arming themselves, mostly from the oil revenues in part thanks to the U.S. oil companies. Recent announcement in Azeri public clearly state that the jihad against Armenians is to be renewed. Its time for Americans to stand against the Azeri jihad, and with Christian Armenians.

A visit to the Huffington blog led to a precis of a new book by Gerald Posner on a Saudi 'doomsday plan,' followed by thoughts from Daniel Pipes. Possible grist for the next WoW mill. Noted, AMac. Thanks. A couple of news stories from last nite and this morning ought to get your attention. The first concerns the AP coverage of a story about Iran's submarine capabilities. The AP breathlessly states that the new subs have the capability to launch missiles and land troops. Only after doing a little digging, does one find a Tehran Times! story that says that the subs are actually mini subs, that are designed for littoral combat scenarios (covert ops and/or terrorist actions), and not lobbing nuclear weapons much as US subs can do - either via ballistic missiles or SLCMs. (http://lawhawk.blogspot.com/2005/05/does-ap-overstate-iranian-sub-case.html) It really makes one wonder if anyone at the AP knows anything about the military at all or whether they just make stuff up as they go along. The second story is the continuing battles along the Syrian frontier. Who is actually fighting the US - are they Syrian troops or foreign fighters supported by the Syrians? Mudville Gazette has more. RE: AP... they don't know much about the m,ilitary, and they do make it up as they go. RE: Operation Matador in northern Iraq, we have your coverage right here. Looks like we have a LOT of foreign fighters there - one of the commanders said that his own skepticism about the number of foreign fighters in Iraq has been erased.
