Hi all... You may have noticed that our comments form has changed slightly. We added James Seng's CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing test - to Tell Computer posters and Humans Apart) feature, so you'll have to look at the graphic and type the humbers/letters in order to comment here.
Note that the CAPTCHA number displayed changes when the screen changes - you don't need it for "Preview," so just enter it when you're ready to post. Sorry about this, but at 1,000 - 2,000 comment spam attacks per day, it has become necessary to go this route in addition to our other defenses.
See the Winds Guide to Fighting Comment Spam for more information and related links. Any serious problems, contact joe, right here @windsofchange.net.

Joe
Thanks to you and WoC for the added improvement in seeking ways to keep dialogue open rather than throwing in the towel.
Seems to be working fine. Great implementation!
Terrorists have been using spam to communicate for years. They launch a website, spam email their messages, often encrypted or imbedded, to millions who generally discard or block them. The few destinations they target can read the message or have the password for the website link and can get their marching orders. You can often tell when there is an escalation, that is when your spam filter fills up or you get deluged. Early on they used white font, which was not detected easily. If you use the copy feature on a number of spam emails, you will see a different message.
Testing...
The captcha-entry textbox wasn't easy to tab to from the comments box, but now it is. Keyboarders rejoice!
Comm check
It would be nice if something on the actual comment pages told users to type the number from the CAPTCHA into the box below it. I knew because I've seen these before, but some might not.
How do you plan on getting this CAPTCHA to work with the screen readers used by blind people?
