There's an ethnic cleansing campaign going on in Kashmir: of Muslims against Hindus. India Defence traces the history of this campaign, and the supplanting of the tolerant Kashmiriat strain of Islam (one that included people like Abdul Ghaffar Khan and his Gandhian Khudai Khidmatgar movement) with Qtubite Deobandi/ Maududi preachers of hate and death.
The report notes that more than 250,000 Pandit Hindu refugees have been driven out of Kashmir into neighbouring states during the last 15 years.

I was never one to extol the 'clash of civilizations' theory, but the more I read the more depressed I become.
Alot of violent dangerous people have been created by this movement. That's not going to be an easy problem to correct and it is not just going to go away, nor will it be in an increasingly technically capable world a tolerable situation.
