Venemous Kate had a good one last week, looking at al-Qaeda's recent activities and putting them in perspective.

U.S. News and World Report has a well-researched report in this week's issue: "Playing Offense" traces the U.S. response from 9/11 to the present. (Hat Tip: Gweilo Diaries)

Both are very much worth your time. So, too, is Armed Liberal's "Why Am I A Democrat?", which incidentally contains the best statement and summation of the war I've yet seen here - or anywhere else, for that matter.
