Attention, American Refugees!

| 10 Comments | 1 TrackBack

Gerald Van Der Leun has the scoop, and gives us alla good laugh: "Canadian Army Masses to Enforce Canada's "No Flee Zone" Policy with the Latest in Advanced Canadian Weaponry."

And he has the pictures to prove it! Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go get my gear....

Sorry, but think Moore will get through. I just sent him a message saying that there was all you could eat free ice cream at the North Pole. Figure the mass and speed, and he can probably break almost any barrier. My advice is to stand aside, let him pass, then guide him to areas you need cleared. The advanced weaponry should be sufficient for the rest. G

Brigade! Set pikes for a charge!!!!

Just how big is the Canadian army these days? From what I'm given to understand, they couldn't hold off a serious refugee crisis emanating from NY State, let alone all of the greater 48 ...

Just remember to aim those pikes low, they may be riding shetland ponies... And if not, will serve as chlorine in the gene pool.

LW, we're hoping they use tactics every bit as smart as the good guys in The Two Towers....

Dan, the total size of the Canadian Armed Forces (all branches, all functions) is 75,000-80,000. In terms of fighting troops, Canada has around 5,000 or so. In terms total combat power, Canada has about 2 MEUs (Marine Expeditionary Units) worth.

Umm, if the Canadian Army massed in one place, would anybody notice?

More seriously, though, on that topic: what a shame that Canada's military has been allowed to atrophy so far. Canada could easily field a significant deployable force, but they have chosen not to. It's not just Canada's loss in influence, but the world's loss in the lack of Canada's peacekeeping expertise and cultural instincts.

Refusing to take these malcontents off our hands is not exactly in the spirit of NAFTA. We let you guys bring cows and fish and stuff down here.

Bans on Canadian cattle and meritless American softwood lumber protectionism isn't in the spirit of NAFTA either, Glen.

Payback time!

What will happen when American deserters back into French deserters in Montreal? What would the surrender protocol be?
Weak Americans out, strong Mexicans in. America respires.

Satire at its worse. Using a photo of the final hours of those fleeing, or attempting to get out, of Vietnam?

It strikes me that the leftists have used the same photo in the past to ridicule right wing extremists.

Sick humor and satire are not one and the same.

Sick humor is not irony. It's sick humor.

Here are some quick tips for adding simple Textile formatting to your comments, though you can also use proper HTML tags:

*This* puts text in bold.

_This_ puts text in italics.

bq. This "bq." at the beginning of a paragraph, flush with the left hand side and with a space after it, is the code to indent one paragraph of text as a block quote.

To add a live URL, "Text to display":http://windsofchange.net/ (no spaces between) will show up as Text to display. Always use this for links - otherwise you will screw up the columns on our main blog page.
