Betrayal in the 101st

Story #1 today is definitely the betrayal inside the 101st Airborne, where a Black Muslim soldier tried to assassinate a number of senior officers with grenades and gunfire. LGF's report will brief you, and of course Charles' comments section is approaching meltdown. Here's my take:

First of all, I'm appalled at the cowardice of the media on this issue. Removing the references to the soldier's religion in not journalism, but a betrayal of journalism. The deliberate deletion of information for expressly political ends is worrisomely common, and that's a slippery slope indeed.

Second - Are we really surprised to see this after Farrakhan himself has consistently supported Saddam Hussein, in word and in deed?

Third - The Washington sniper followed a similar pattern, and the pattern should concern everyone. Not every KKK member would lynch black people or frag a black officer, but enough of them have those tendencies that removing them from the U.S. Army is simple prudence. The U.S. Army also weeds out Crips and Bloods, even though some certainly make fine soldiers as inidividuals. Louis Farrakhan's Nation of Islam is close to an open Fifth Column, a force for hatred and violence in mainstream society. It's time for the Army to treat them the same way it treat Crips, Bloods, and the KKK.

Does treason during wartime still carry a mandatory death sentence? It should.

What he did could indeed get him shot. And should.

I'd like to see his execution televised.

Who screwed the pooch and let him live this long?

We will lose a politicaly correct war.It may be unfair,it is certainly politicaly incorrect, but we have no choice but to assume all muslims to be hostle till proven otherwise.unless you know of some technology or magic crystal to show us the "good" ones from the "bad" ones. Were senior officers aware of his instabilty?Did they leave him in place to avoid accusations of bigotry?Or were they unaware?Did they choose to be unaware? In either case they are just as guilty as this man.

Maybe Bloods and Crips should be in the army. Unlike Islamists or the KKK they do not particularly care about killing Americans they just want to make money even if it is through violent illegal means.

The Kurds are advancing on Baghdad - and the South of Iraq!. God help the poor civilians. It will be a hell hole! While the "Coalition" forces are disciplines and fairly controlled, the Kurds - are not. Unfortunately, they are liable to kill and rape - Damn it - it is usually we, women that pay for the savage wars of men - of lany side!

Here are some quick tips for adding simple Textile formatting to your comments, though you can also use proper HTML tags:

*This* puts text in bold.

_This_ puts text in italics.

bq. This "bq." at the beginning of a paragraph, flush with the left hand side and with a space after it, is the code to indent one paragraph of text as a block quote.

To add a live URL, "Text to display":http://windsofchange.net/ (no spaces between) will show up as Text to display. Always use this for links - otherwise you will screw up the columns on our main blog page.
