I've repeatedly butted heads with Henry Farrell from Crooked Timber; I'm sure that we disagree on many things...but he's just hit one out of the park in arguing for intellectual and rhetorical honesty and in embracing a kind of political pluralism that I'm solidly behind. And especially having criticized him, I'd feel like a tool if I didn't stand up and applaud his latest.
So, yay Henry!

That's only out of the park if the park is the size of the average urban front yard. I don't disagree with what he said, but I would expect no less from any adult.
well we certainly wouldn't want you to feel like a tool Mr. Armed Liberal person
Aw, happy, thanks. But why don't you go back and play in Jeff's yard instead of mine, unless you want to play by our rules, which are discussion and relevancy and no personal slagging.
I'll give you this one but the next one like it...poof! Will go away. If you'd like to contribute to the discussion, OTOH...

This is the right way not to have Jeff Goldstein / Patterico type ugly brawls. :)
It's a sad sign of the times that this sort of basic honest pluralism rates such strong approval. In saying that, however, I want to make it clear that in no way to I intend to slight either A.L. for the sentiment, or Henry Farrell (whom I don't read regularly) for the post.
It may be sad, but the times are what they are, and people doing the right thing and acting well should be recognized for it.
