Have Feminists given radical Islam a pass? Some certainly have and do, as demonstrated by leading Canadian feminist Sunera Thobani's post-9/11 comments opposing the very action that led to the liberation of Afghanistan's women, and adding that "there will be no emancipation for women anywhere on this planet until the Western domination of this planet is ended." [emphasis mine]
Needless to say, this landed her a much-deserved spot on the New Republic's Idiocy Watch Top 10 list. Nor is Thobani alone among prominent feminists in holding and expressing such views.
On the other hand... allow me to introduce Fatimah. Not to mention Venomous Kate, who earned a Winds of War citation for a post noting the dire situation of women in many Islamic countries. Where is the feminist outrage? Since this is the blogosphere, Judith Weiss responds with a link-packed answer to that question.
