Professor Juan Cole, President of the Middle East Studies Association, doesn’t think we are really at war.
War on Terror OverI don’t know what to say. So I won’t say anything. I’ll just post some photos instead. Let’s see if they jibe with the professor’s “four guys are the enemy” theory. The Bush administration is giving up the phrase "global war on terror."
I take it this is because they have finally realized that if they are fighting a war on terror, the enemy is four guys in a gymn (sic) in Leeds. It isn't going to take very long for people to realize that a) you don't actually need to pay the Pentagon $400 billion a year if that is the problem and b) whoever is in charge of such a war isn't actually doing a very good job at stopping the bombs from going off. [Emphasis added.]

Am I mistaken, or does much of the rest of Prof. Cole's post contradict his "four guys in a gymn" [sic] cranial event?
Granted, the professor is on the bleeding edge of content-free ideology, but this is starting to look like ordinary short-term memory loss. I think we need to get that stem cell research rolling.

Cole's response also contradicts his premise...and, of course, points out that it's all our fault.

Premises don't matter for The Two Minutes Hate. It isn't about them.
Nice job, Michael.
I notice he didn't think that the threat was so insignificant a little while back when he was on one of his anti-Sharon rants (as distinct from his anti-Bush rants) talking about how Israeli actions are ensuring that the US will face further 9/11s in the years to come.
This is like doublethink 101.
It is not doublethink
9/11 are nothing compared with war
