Former Presidential speechwriter Peggy Noonan delivered a perfect pitch yesterday. As usual. If you haven't read "The Blogs Must Be Crazy (Or maybe the MSM is just suffering from freedom envy)" - do so! It's a welcome counterpoint to the recent hysteria, and comes from someone with strong seniority in both the media and political spheres. Did we need Ms. Noonan to validate us? Hell, no. But it's nice.
Part of our freedom is the freedom to be classy at times like this. Do we need to buy her flowers and chocolates? Hell, no. But it's nice.
Here's how...
I have Ms. Noonan's address (who says bloggers can't dig like reporters), and we've already sent her a bouquet from Winds of Change.NET.
Unfortunately, I'm obliged to protect the address as well as my source. So... if anyone else wants to send flowers to Ms. Noonan, use the comments section here and tell me:
- What you're prepared to pledge via Paypal.
- What name, moniker, or blog name you'd like credited in the accompanying note/card.
I'll arrange a "blogs bouquet" of equivalent value - and we'll add a box of chocolates if we can. The name of every blog/blogger who pitches in will be on it. The post will then be updated to add the web site of the florist, and a confirmation # you can use to assure yourself that the "blogs bouquet" order was sent.
Because of delivery constraints, etc., deadline for response is Friday 18th, 9:00am Eastern Time.

Strapped for cash right now, but I'd like to pitch in a dollar or two. I really can't send more than five, alas.
Name's Ian Hamet, and my blog is Banana Oil!
How about dandelion wine? Flowers and booze for her!! It'll tickle her pink!
You are a fcuking idiot. I'll start reading your blog, just to learn about the world from the perspective of someone with a room-temperature I.Q.
Oh hell yes, let's all buy flowers for one of the dumbest god-damned women in America.
How about sending Our Lady of the Dolphins a bouquet of vegetables in honor of her Saviour, Ronald Reagan?
I am just a simple bloggee (a viewer of blogger's work product). I don't blog myself. But be you from the right or left, why isn't Peggy Noonan right that this is a good thing? The bloggers from the right and left should thank Ms. Noonan because she is one of the few of the mainstream media (yes having an op-ed piece on the WSJ makes you part of the establishment) who recognizes the change. You might disagree with Ms. Noonan's politics, but her points on this subject are dead on and ahead of the curve (at least for the lumbering dinosaurs that make up the MSM).
I can't believe you wasted your time with this. It's even harder to believe Wonkette wasted mine...
Jesus, how about if she sends ME some cash?
It's called "having class", and it has nothing to do with one's financial or social station.
I'm sorry that's a foreign concept to some of you. I suspect your parents are sorry as well.
Anyway, the deadline has passed, the bouquet we sent was appreciated (Ms. Noonan, who has class, sent a nice note back)... and so I'm closing comments.
