Meryl Yourish has had it with PETA, largely over its current campaign comparing the treatment of chickens to Nazi Death Camps. Though she could also have picked the protest letter to Yasser Arafat when Palestinian terrorists sent a "suicide ass" (is there any other kind?) into Israel as a weapon of war, after complete silence as hundreds of Israelis were murdered by similar techniques.
Or its latest campaign, which covers something we mentioned recently in Winds of War: the US Army's use of chickens in cages atop U.S. Army vehicles as chemical weapon detectors. Let American troops die? No problem! Have "drafted" chickens risk death instead? Bad, bad people!
This is why I've mostly given up on parody folks - it's not possible any more. I have a parody post in my head about the North Korea merging with Rev. Moon's Unification Church and solving everybody's problems in one fell swoop, but why bother? Reality will be stranger tomorrow.
Fortunately, Meryl's strangeness is used for good and not for evil. Hence, "Eat An Animal for PETA Day".
Dig in!

Here are some quick tips for adding simple Textile formatting to your comments, though you can also use proper HTML tags:
*This* puts text in bold.
_This_ puts text in italics.
bq. This "bq." at the beginning of a paragraph, flush with the left hand side and with a space after it, is the code to indent one paragraph of text as a block quote.
To add a live URL, "Text to display":http://windsofchange.net/ (no spaces between) will show up as Text to display. Always use this for links - otherwise you will screw up the columns on our main blog page.
