Hillary Isn't the Monster

I was at first relieved to learn that Senator Barack Obama had chosen Samantha Power as a foreign policy advisor. Her book A Problem from Hell: America and the Age of Genocide is hardly wishy-washy or leftist, and I concur with Max Boot that it could have been written by a neoconservative. It had been years, though, since I had paid her any attention. Until, that is, Noah Pollak forced me to take a fresh look. Much of what she has written and said since her book’s publication has been troubling, and she turned out to be the most controversial of Obama’s advisors. Yesterday she resigned after calling Senator Hillary Clinton a “monster” in an interview with a Scottish newspaper. I suspect an additional (though unstated) reason may have been the unwanted storm of controversy surrounding her, a storm that has had the Obama campaign on the defensive for some time now.

To her credit, Power disavowed her most controversial idea–that American troops be sent to Israel and the Palestinian territories–but troubling questions remain. If she thinks Clinton is a monster, what does she think about the dictators of Syria and Iran? She doesn’t approve of them. That’s obvious. But neither she nor Obama has ever been so “undiplomatic” as to suggest that they’re monsters.

Hillary is going to win so who cares who Obama choose to help run his fantasy!!

In any case, I suspect the liberal yearning for dialogue with the likes of Ahmadinejad and Assad might be less troublesome if advocates of diplomacy gave some sign that they consider the tyrants and terrorist regimes of the Middle East to be more of a threat than election opponents.

Here's what Obama had to say about Ahmadinejad's visit to Columbia University last fall:

"I would not have extended an invitation to give President Ahmadinejad another platform for his hateful rhetoric. Adolph Hitler was the worst mass murderer in the history of the world, and Ahmadinejad's denial of his crimes is offensive to Jews, to Americans, and to all people of goodwill. But this is America, and we should never be afraid to confront the ranting lies of dictators like Ahmadinejad with the power of truth and the strength of our own values. What Ahmadinejad will learn while he's here is that America is united in rejection of his hateful views, and in opposition to the Iranian government's support of terrorism and pursuit of nuclear weapons."

Is this a clear enough sign? And don't forget he's in a tough election contest as well...

A better insight into Barack Hussein Obama's hatred of America and desire to see it weak and humbled can be found in his minister's views here .

“Fact No. 3: America is still the No. 1 killer in the world. We invaded Grenada for no other reason than to get Maurice Bishop [a Grenada revolutionary who seized power in 1979], invaded Panama because Noriega would not dance to our tune any more. We are deeply involved in the importing of drugs, the exporting of guns, and the training of professional killers. We bombed Cambodia, Iraq and Nicaragua, killing women and children while trying to get public opinion turned against Castro and Qaddafi.”

Fact No. 4: We put [Nelson] Mandela in prison and supported apartheid the whole 27 years he was there. We believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in God. Fact No. 5: We supported Zionism shamelessly while ignoring the Palestinians and branding anybody who spoke out against it as being anti-semitic.”

“Fact No. 6: We conducted radiation experiments on our own people. They’re just finding out about that. We care nothing about human life if the ends justifies the means. Fact No. 7: We do not care if poor black and brown children cannot read and kill each other senselessly. We abandoned the cities back in the '60s when the riots started and it really doesn’t matter what those nations do to each other; we gave up on them and public education of poor people who live in the projects . . .”

Wright went on: “Fact No. 8: We started the AIDS virus, and now that it is out of control, we still put more money in the military than in medicine; more money in hate than in humanitarian concerns. Everybody does not have access to healthcare, I don’t care what the rich white boys in the Senate say. Listen up: If you are poor, black and elderly, forget it.”

Concluding, Wright said: “Fact No. 9: We are only able to maintain our level of living by making sure that Third World people live in grinding poverty. And fact No. 10: We are selfish, self-centered egotists who are arrogant and ignorant and betray our church and do not try to make the kingdom that Jesus talked about a reality. And — and — and in light of these 10 facts, God has got to be sick of this s***.”

Wright also blamed "white Americans" for 9/11 and suggested "they have it coming."

------------------

It does not seem that any of Barack Hussein Obama's views coincide with a belief in the goodness of the US, desire to have it powerful, or need to hamper or bring down our enemies. Barack Hussein Obama and his advisors want to "talk" with Ahmadinejad, Assad, and likely (Osama) because they share a desire to see the US a weak and supplicant state. Their views about America roughly parallel that of Osama and Ahmadinejad. Wright's views (Obama has been a member of his church for years) is likely what Obama thinks. Since if he had serious disagreements he would have left long ago.

That Obama will refuse to wear the lapel pin flag, or act respectful during the National Anthem or Pledge of Allegiance is a huge red flag to his race-based hatred of the US.
------------------

His national security advisor called him naive and knee-jerk in his refusal to support Jay Rockefeller's compromise on FISA. Barack Hussein Obama is probably not that far from those who bombed the military recruitment center in Times Square, and would likely welcome another mass-casualty terror attack the way his Pastor did on 9/11.

That Barack Hussein Obama is the leading Democratic candidate for President with all these anti-American, race-based issues says what the debased and corrupted nature of the Democratic Party represents. A thin wedge of the Media, Academia, and post-American elites with resentful racialist Blacks.

Extremely unhealthy, and VERY dangerous. Democrats have become in a way Hezbollah-lite. Ugly.

Racism....displayed and viewed all over the world is alive and well in 2008. Americans be fearful, feel thearten by a black , well spoken, educated, Columbia graduate, Harvard graduate, President of Harvard Law Committee, Senator of Illinois...Get ready America for your first Black President IN THE WHITE HOUSE...BARACK-HUSSIEN OBAMA!!!!!!!!!

CHANGE!!!!!!YES WE CAN

Hillary Clinton 35 years of being humilated on national tv by her husband marital affairs. To dumb and naive not to realize her husband was having an affair right in front of her face. The same President same president that said" I did not have sexual intercourse with that woman" "I smoked marijuana, but never inhaled" Impeachment. This is what the Clintons are known for.

Just checked out that site...it's amazing. Lesley Stahl?! Hope they talk more Hillary...

I can't get the Commentary link to come up. Maybe the infinite referrals from WoC have swamped their server? :-^

cl (#4):

That was what we call a "drive-by". Contribute substance next time or face banning. Sloganeering is not what this blog is here for. This is your only warning.

Notice that true to Democrat talking points, if anyone DARES question the Obamessiah then you get trolls like #4.

I have yet to see anything of substance from BHO in positions. Just sloganeering. At least Hillary has positions though I may find them offensive as a conservative.

I hope that over the next few months BHO is exposed for the America hater that he appears to be. He and his wife have lived the dream yet they can only denigrate the country. (At least she does.)

I thought #4 was being sarcastic. Barack-Hussien (sic) Obama?

Regarding S. Powers, isn't it becoming obvious that Barack Obama is a dupe for such people, who sound fresh and exciting to him because he's a naif and they're utter flakes? Rather worse than George McGovern, more like Henry Wallace?

No doubt he has the best intentions, as in four-lane autobahn-to-hell intentions.

'hobo, Glen:

Doesn't matter if it was trolling or sarcasm.

Poor spelling and syntax (element 1) from an infrequent / unfamiliar nickname (element 2) plus cant (element 3) with little apparent substance re the entry (element 4) tripped my "insufficient quality" filter.

I'm not doing much but sweeping up around here these days, but when I see a random loogie on the floor I know what to do about it.

Let me also point out that Jim Rockford's post, while more substantive than cl's #4, isn't really on-point for this specific thread.

Let me also point out that Jim Rockford's post, while more substantive than cl's #4, isn't really on-point for this specific thread.

Let me point out that Jim Rockford's End of the World is at hand, nuclear threat under every rug screeds are never on point about any thread or subject other than his perception that the End of the World is at hand and their is a nuclear threat under every rug.

By the way, Hillary is a monster.

Jim, seriously. I share many of your concerns (although at a much, much MUCH lower level of probability than you seem to) and it's getting overmuch.

How about this - guest-author a post on your concerns, fears, and plans. Let's have a brawl in comments about it, and then you can just refer back to the post in future comments...

toc,

Totten is right. There is no American politician that can be reasonably described as a monster. Not the crook Jack Murtha. Not the former Klan wizard and "what other pork projects can I name after me" icon himself, Robert Byrd. Not even a racist and 'traitor looking for an opportunity' like Cynthia McKinney, though she does edge toward the line. And whatever the black helicopter right-wing militia types or Obamaniacs might say, not Ms. Clinton. Or Obama. Or McCain (which might be news to some on the right). Or, for the lefty conspiracy set, Dick Cheney.

Look around the world, take a deep breath, and get a clue.

To me, anyone who uses a word like "monster" to describe an American politician at the federal level, of either party, has just put a big "unhinged moron" sign on their forehead.

Well, there are monsters and there are monsters. For example, the Celtic monster Baobhan Sith is a woman with cloven hooves, who drinks human blood but is otherwise unobjectionable in appearance and character.

How about, Hillary Clinton is an evil fairy? Off the record, of course.

Here are some quick tips for adding simple Textile formatting to your comments, though you can also use proper HTML tags:

*This* puts text in bold.

_This_ puts text in italics.

bq. This "bq." at the beginning of a paragraph, flush with the left hand side and with a space after it, is the code to indent one paragraph of text as a block quote.

To add a live URL, "Text to display":http://windsofchange.net/ (no spaces between) will show up as Text to display. Always use this for links - otherwise you will screw up the columns on our main blog page.
