Inspired by this strip at Day By Day:

2_small.JPG

Over at ExposureManager, we've just launched a new service for photoblogs called "BuyThisImage!" (notice the button below this image). I'll use this as a testbed, and donate all the net proceeds to the best organization I can find that promotes human rights in Cuba. Leave suggestions in the comments.

Room TemperaChe.

#1: Please post in English and please try to contribute substance. Drive-bys in Russian, even complimentary ones, are not what we try to foster here, however much they might amuse you. Thanks.

The Russian said "Interesting. And the most important - unusual."

I was just curious and thought I'd save others the trouble.

What a great shirt! I really have to have one. I attend law school with a lot of dirty hippies who would probably not even realize I was disrespecting that monster except that they know I hate him.

Jay Nordlinger over at National Review has detailed the story of many Cubans, both of those in exile and those actively being persecuted there. I am confident he would be delighted in sending you information about the best Cuban-focused human rights organizations.

laugh I like it!

If you're tempted to go further, well, this is just begging for a series of themed "room temperature" products. Yasser Arafat comes to mind; ditto for Lenin and Stalin. Mao might be fun, but I doubt his face is well-remembered anymore.

respectfully,
Daniel in Brookline

I love the t-shirt with Reagan's face that says Viva la Revolution. Cant remember where i saw it.

Unfortunately you are wrong about Mao; he is making something of a comeback with the fashionista /artsy-intellectual set.

We couldn’t agree how to pronounce Enver Xoxha.

Egad, don't they know if you go around carrying pictures of chairman Mao, you ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow?

Are you saying Meow?

A Che Guevarra poster is tacked in my room to remind me that the revolution of the proletariat is still alive today regardless of your opinions.

Thanks for dropping by, pinoyapache.

I look forward to meaningful dialog with you in the time remaining before the crews in proletarian rebel tanks hiding in the cornfields can smell the next Havana burning.

But maybe dialectic is really about praxis, eh? Why be a humble practicing M.D. when you can instead be a passionate Robespierre beheading the enemies of the people?

Butch Cassidy, Harry "Sundance" Longbaugh, Che Guevara - Has anybody done more than the Bolivian Army to promote positive climate change?

Here are some quick tips for adding simple Textile formatting to your comments, though you can also use proper HTML tags:

*This* puts text in bold.

_This_ puts text in italics.

bq. This "bq." at the beginning of a paragraph, flush with the left hand side and with a space after it, is the code to indent one paragraph of text as a block quote.

To add a live URL, "Text to display":http://windsofchange.net/ (no spaces between) will show up as Text to display. Always use this for links - otherwise you will screw up the columns on our main blog page.
