Found this one over at Jay Nordlinger's Impromptus, abrim as usual with arch humour and easy grace. Apparently, this thought came from one of his readers:
DEPT. OF I WISH I HAD SAID THAT: "George W. Bush has several black Americans in high-ranking positions, but often they're not considered black, because they are, of course, Republican... Michael Jackson could have saved himself a fortune on cosmetic surgery...."
Too true. But then, of course, we would have missed out on the uplifting spectacle of watching him become the first white member of The Nation of Islam.
