MT-Blacklist 1.5 Released
by Joe Katzman at October 31, 2003 7:12 AM
Jay Allen has released v1.5 of MT-Blacklist, his plug-in for blocking comment spam on Movable Type blogs. It no longer creates server load issues, and as a bonus he has upgraded many features since v1.0. Including an interface that lets you scan back through your last #n comments to find and kill comment spam.
Installation is relatively easy - if you're having a problem, just use the comments section to let us know and we'll step you through it.

Hum, lets see if this still block me.
Not unless you include a URL somewhere from a site on the blacklist.
Joe,
This is to let you know that Winds is now available to me in China and comments work.
Thanks for whatever you did.
Jeanne
Here are some quick tips for adding simple Textile formatting to your comments, though you can also use proper HTML tags:
*This* puts text in bold.
_This_ puts text in italics.
bq. This "bq." at the beginning of a paragraph, flush with the left hand side and with a space after it, is the code to indent one paragraph of text as a block quote.
To add a live URL, "Text to display":http://windsofchange.net/ (no spaces between) will show up as Text to display. Always use this for links - otherwise you will screw up the columns on our main blog page.
Finally, note that a constant onslaught of Trackback spams from auto-generated blogspot blogs has forced Winds to ban the blogspot.com domain from use in comments or trackbacks. If you host on blogspot, consider moving; otherwise, the complaints need to be directed at Google not us.
