"Maloney is going places, fast. He's got the on-screen dexterity of a Michael Moore, only with integrity."
Roger that. Guerilla indie film-blogger Evan Coyne Maloney has done some exceptional work. His brilliant Peace, Love & Hating the Jews short, filmed at a San Francisco protest, was an exemplary and eye-opening expose. Gotta say, his good-natured interview with Michael Moore was pretty interesting too.
Now he takes on a new subject: campus political correctness and the jackbooted, cowardly universities who persecute students with dissenting views - or stand by while they're threatened. Did you know that you could write "the next time you see one of these ragheads, shoot him right in the f---in face", on a University committee email list, and get away with no sanction? You can...
...as long the Sikh you're writing about is a conservative. The administration will even crack down on students who sign a petition protesting their lack of action. Of course, the same university will suspend an entire fraternity when five members from Jackson, TN go to an off-campus Halloween party dressed as The Jackson 5.
Just another status quo story for most campuses, which remain "islands of repression in a sea of freedom."
Fortunately, Evan has investors and a real production company behind him this time. I think it's great that he's growing beyond Brain Terminal... though he's still using his blog to call for material. If you've got some for him, head over and help him out.
That said, the pilot version of "Brainwashing 101" is ready - and it's really something you ought to see. Because some of it is stuff you're going to have to see to believe.
Unless you're academic blogger Erin O'Connor, of course.

Here are some quick tips for adding simple Textile formatting to your comments, though you can also use proper HTML tags:
*This* puts text in bold.
_This_ puts text in italics.
bq. This "bq." at the beginning of a paragraph, flush with the left hand side and with a space after it, is the code to indent one paragraph of text as a block quote.
To add a live URL, "Text to display":http://windsofchange.net/ (no spaces between) will show up as Text to display. Always use this for links - otherwise you will screw up the columns on our main blog page.
