New Weapon in Afghanistan: Viagra

No, really - and it's working.

When you think about the structure and mentality of Islamic societies, the concept makes complete sense. Kudos to the people on the ground who thought of this... and what an interesting statement about global brands.

I have been saying for many years that the best way to destroy radical Islam is :

1) Create a swimsuit/lingerie catalog filled with attractive women. No nudity, just swimsuits/lingerie. Also show hot women in business suits as bosses of male colleagues. The catalog need only be 20 pages.
2) Print about 100 million copies of this. At $1/copy, it would only cost $100 million.
3) Airdrop/smuggle/insert these catalogs across the countryside in Afghanistan/Pakistan/Iraq/Saudi Arabia/Iran/Egypt, etc. Countries that we cannot fly over will need covert smuggling.
4) Young men will get a copy, and use it. Mullah's may round up copies and burn them, but there are so many copies, that there is no way to Mullah's can purge them all. Many boys will keep their copies closely guarded. If we hear there is a shortage of copies, we just need to print more.

This alone will weaken radical Islam. It is cheap, easy, and peaceful.

Actually, my idea would be far more effective than v-gra, since v-gra is only useful for men that are already married, within an Islamic society.

Since most of the recruits for terror are younger/poorer men who are not having any sex (with women), the catalog targets the core terrorist recruitment demographic where v-gra does not.

Kinda funny. What works with the Warlords gets people like Gov. Rod Blagojevich in trouble.

Blagojevich, Spitzer, Rangel, etc. merely are in the wrong country. In a third-world setting, they could all be very successful dictators.

What, really, is the difference between Blagojevich, Spitzer, etc. and Islam Karimov, Nursultan Nazarbayev, Hosni Mubarak, Evo Morales, etc? It is all about the system fitting the skillset...

Here are some quick tips for adding simple Textile formatting to your comments, though you can also use proper HTML tags:

*This* puts text in bold.

_This_ puts text in italics.

bq. This "bq." at the beginning of a paragraph, flush with the left hand side and with a space after it, is the code to indent one paragraph of text as a block quote.

To add a live URL, "Text to display":http://windsofchange.net/ (no spaces between) will show up as Text to display. Always use this for links - otherwise you will screw up the columns on our main blog page.
