Hearty congratulations to Norwegian Blogger Vegard Valberg, whose provocative and insightful roll of postings over the past week got him added to the Winds of Change "Eruo-Cool" blogroll. Now all he has to do is stay there.
With material like this, it shouldn't be hard. Start with his in-depth treatments of the Pakistani "honour rape" and honour killings in the West. Frankly, they're the best treatment I've seen of this issue, insightful and unafraid to speak their uncomfortable truths.
He also explains a way for Al-Qaeda to become way more effective in their attacks on the USA. He's right. Good thing they don't seem to be listening.
Valberg's agnostic voice of reasoned thought on the ICC issue is worth reading, and appreciating, whether you agree or not. Read "Complex Issues", and "Unconstitutional?", and "The Ingenious Americans".
Finally, he changed my mind about something. "It's in our national best interest" had me nearly crying with laughter, as he details imaginary American conversations with the French and the Saudis. I appreciate the US willingness to pursue their interests unilaterally, and often support it. But our Norwegian friend made some very good points in a very funny way, and America could ease up a bit in some areas. Even with the French.
Go read him!

Here are some quick tips for adding simple Textile formatting to your comments, though you can also use proper HTML tags:
*This* puts text in bold.
_This_ puts text in italics.
bq. This "bq." at the beginning of a paragraph, flush with the left hand side and with a space after it, is the code to indent one paragraph of text as a block quote.
To add a live URL, "Text to display":http://windsofchange.net/ (no spaces between) will show up as Text to display. Always use this for links - otherwise you will screw up the columns on our main blog page.
