There is a story floating around -- posted on Dhimmi Watch, Barcepundit, and a news article in The Scotsman that Stephen Vincent was killed bec. he was planning to marry his translator and had, in fact, given her family dowry money.

I posted what I could find because since the beginning I had a visceral sense that this was about the woman, the translator. I didn't think of it as a romantic link so much as a violation of Sharia law and extremist custom for a kaffir to be going about with a female translator.

Stephen Vincent was a good writer and a tough analyst. He was also not a fool. What was he doing with a female translator? What fate did the female translator think awaited her?

I posted it as a grim Muslim version of Romeo and Juliet because that's the info I had. I would love to hear differently...there are some grim quotes from British security about Mr. Vincent's lack of sense here...

If anyone has better info please leave a comment on my post so I can update. I'd also like to hear what happened to the woman, Ms. Itais.

This rumor first surfaced in one of the first articles after he died, at the Times of London. They never corrected it, but every other article about him either refutes it or ignores it.

I think it was a nasty rumor spread by the locals. You should really research this before you spread it further. I have lots of links about Vincent starting here. Also listen to the interview.
