Really, I'm Trying To Feel Bad About This

Despicable litigant and bad cartoonist Ted Rall was dropped by the Washington Post yesterday.

Apparently he has fans, and on his blog, he thoughtfully posted the email of the poor sap at the WaPo taking complaints on this: washingtonpost@mailnj.custhelp.com

Somehow, I have a feeling you'll know what to do.

I believe the correct spelling is "congratulations."

AL, where will we go to now when we need a never ending stream of bad taste? I always found Rall's stuff hysterical (and quite wrong). My personal favorite was the cartoon with the heading "Citizen. Soldier. Luggage." Very funny in a sobering-yet-repulsive kind of way.

I did what I knew to do. :)

Here is what I wrote...

bq Thank you for making the right decision with respect to Ted Rall. He doesn't have a right to post garbage or filth or racist cartoons on your dime. His right to free speech can be financed completely by himself...

I just thanked them for looking down deep and discovering that they had a pair. And offered congratulations, of course.

Political cartoonists need embedded soldiers to observe over their shoulders. I suggest a seal behind Rall. America deserves to know.

Here are some quick tips for adding simple Textile formatting to your comments, though you can also use proper HTML tags:

*This* puts text in bold.

_This_ puts text in italics.

bq. This "bq." at the beginning of a paragraph, flush with the left hand side and with a space after it, is the code to indent one paragraph of text as a block quote.

To add a live URL, "Text to display":http://windsofchange.net/ (no spaces between) will show up as Text to display. Always use this for links - otherwise you will screw up the columns on our main blog page.
