Scandal Rocks BlackFive Blog

I want to get on this issue before the other liberal blogs do...

...Milblogger BlackFive has made much of his identity as a Chicago Irishman. In an uncharacteristic slip, today he posted a photograph of the contents of his Irish PalmPilot, in which he made an uncharacteristic error that must force us all to challenge his identity.

Sorry, "Matt", but I know Irishmen, and you're no Irishman. A true Irishman would have written "Get MORE beer".

Further investigation to follow...

"Beer"?

The Irishmen I know would write "Get Whiskey"

You know Irishmen who would need a reminder...?

I'm sure it was just lack of memory in his Irish Palm Pilot that prevented his writing 50% more characters in his reminder.

I have to admit that, during the First MilBlog Conference, Matt showed up late to the pub on two separate occasions. I tried to look the other way, of course... but I fear this latest discovery must make us finally ask these questions.

Oh. My. God.

What's next? A claim that he actually walked out of a bar?

Anybody in the Merrionette Park area looking for something to do, come to 115 Bourbon Street. I'll be at the sound board.

That looked vaguely like a creepy proposition- so i'll turn it into a plug. The band i do sound for is playing: cover band called Then Again. They are seriously very good, so come on out.

Wannabe Irish!

A true Irishman would already have had that message written in his DNA, an imperative from conception.

"Get more beer" suggests that the "getter" has some undrunk beer. That can't happen unless the getter can get beer faster than he can drink it or started out with a stockpile that he hasn't drunk down. Neither one sounds very Irish.

Seen posted on the pub loo's wall:

"For a good time call Mark Buehner at WoC"

Andy, there'd be no beer in Ireland (or Boston) if that was true. We all know the Industrial Revolution was started by a bunch of thirsty Irishman who were worried that population growth would outstrip beer production...

A.L.

For all you jealous folk out there:
If you're lucky enough to be Irish, you're lucky enough.

Here are some quick tips for adding simple Textile formatting to your comments, though you can also use proper HTML tags:

*This* puts text in bold.

_This_ puts text in italics.

bq. This "bq." at the beginning of a paragraph, flush with the left hand side and with a space after it, is the code to indent one paragraph of text as a block quote.

To add a live URL, "Text to display":http://windsofchange.net/ (no spaces between) will show up as Text to display. Always use this for links - otherwise you will screw up the columns on our main blog page.
