Donald Sensing has a roundup of links from all over that's very much worth your time. Lots of good stuff.
Here are some quick tips for adding simple Textile formatting to your comments, though you can also use proper HTML tags:
*This* puts text in bold.
_This_ puts text in italics.
bq. This "bq." at the beginning of a paragraph, flush with the left hand side and with a space after it, is the code to indent one paragraph of text as a block quote.
To add a live URL, "Text to display":http://windsofchange.net/ (no spaces between) will show up as Text to display. Always use this for links - otherwise you will screw up the columns on our main blog page.
Cool linkfest.
Here's one to add to the debates over here:
Mr. We Could Use a Man Like Harry Truman Again.
On the Truman article: HST was the first President to work on Civil Rights since Grant, not since ever as the article implies. Integration of the military reversed Wilson, who had segregated the Navy in '14. But a good article.
Btw, pointless personal asside: I lost my place in comments discussions when my modem died (don't send flowers). I've only been able to catch-as-catch-can from work atm, and having an oddly hard time getting a replacement for my obsolecent P-II Win95 computer (a run on modems lately, I guess - and not many outlets in the small burg where I live). The only point to all this is that if anyone responded to any of my previous comments with a question or something that deserved a reply and didn't get it, sorry.
