With no TV in my office, I have been forced to listen either to radio or MP3 files. Gets old day after day. Yesterday I bought a Slingbox, a device that integrates your incoming television signal with your broadband internet connection to enable you to watch your own television service on any computer, anywhere, connected to the internet.
My initial user review is posted on my own site, for those who may be interested.

The quality of your signal will be significantly improved if A. you clear your outgoing pipe of most high-bandwidth traffic and B. you use DirecTV or a digital cable source, rather than an analogue.
For viewing, I suggest a DVI monitor windowed at about half or 2/3 of full screen. For sports events or captures, disable all incoming traffic as well.
Slingbos is a GREAT idea - but unfortunatelty due to Rogers policies you might not get full use out of your device.
Depending on what Rogers plan you are on you might have a 20 gig, 60 gig or 100 gig BITCAP. Depending on what quality level you set your slingboc you could be using up half a gig per hour!
Soon you will use up your bitcap and Rogers will spank you and cut off your service to teach you a lesson or force you to upgrade to a higher cost rate plan.
