Wow, you find wireless Internet in the strangest places these days. Unfortunately, Dell laptop power supplies are harder, so I'll have to be quick. Judith Weiss of Kesher Talk pointed me to this one, and it seems so appropriate blogging from L.A. - smog-eating paint:
bq. "European scientists have devised a paint that soaks up nitrogen oxide gases emitted by vehicle exhausts, a pollution source that can cause smog and respiratory problems. The substance, Ecopaint, will go on sale next month and, when painted on the side of buildings, should be able to soak up nitrogen oxides (NOx) for five years until its novel coating is exhausted, New Scientist says."
One more example of both nanotech's promise, and the simplicity of its initial applications. Like nanotech Dockers and ski coatings, it doesn't look like much - but it's useful, and it paves the way for more advanced technology.

Here are some quick tips for adding simple Textile formatting to your comments, though you can also use proper HTML tags:
*This* puts text in bold.
_This_ puts text in italics.
bq. This "bq." at the beginning of a paragraph, flush with the left hand side and with a space after it, is the code to indent one paragraph of text as a block quote.
To add a live URL, "Text to display":http://windsofchange.net/ (no spaces between) will show up as Text to display. Always use this for links - otherwise you will screw up the columns on our main blog page.
