Some People Just Never Surprise You

When last seen on these pages, Nir Rosen was a journalist embedded with the Taliban who used his US documents to pass a band of Taliban through an Afghan government checkpoint.

A truly douchebag move, right?

And I guess he just is who he is.

Today, he tweeted - dismissively - about Lara Logan having been assaulted in Cairo.

And then, when caught, tried to delete the record.

Stay classy, Nir. Keep embracing that wonderful oh-so-humane inner self.

Note the beard. I rest my case.

For a red diaper brat from New York, Nir Rosen has really got the Third World Warrior schtick down pat. Especially the hairy-chested "rape a bourgeois blonde for the Revolution" part.

No wonder he was invited to testify about Iraq to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, where he got to call Joe Biden an "imperialist". How cool is that?

And only a couple of months ago he was welcomed to UT Austin by The Center for Women's & Gender Studies [sic]. And this isn't even ironic.

She deserves what she got because, like Sarah Palin, she's not authentically a woman

...well, at least his resignation as an NYU fellow has been accepted!

What a DB!

I guess an NYU fellowship is not an unlimited license for outrage. Why did a pro-Taliban journalist with no law degree obtain employment with a "Center for Law and Security" in the first place? Somebody should demand answers from ... John Boehner, or somebody like that.

Here are some quick tips for adding simple Textile formatting to your comments, though you can also use proper HTML tags:

*This* puts text in bold.

_This_ puts text in italics.

bq. This "bq." at the beginning of a paragraph, flush with the left hand side and with a space after it, is the code to indent one paragraph of text as a block quote.

To add a live URL, "Text to display":http://windsofchange.net/ (no spaces between) will show up as Text to display. Always use this for links - otherwise you will screw up the columns on our main blog page.
