As of noon Pacific Time time today (contest ends at midnight PDT), Winds of Change.NET has calculated that Spirit of America's Blogger Challenge has raised $75,856.51 for the varius SoA funds. The various teams have raised $29,343.45, while a larger swarm of individual blogs has raised a collective total of $46,513.06.

We've been pretty successful with our Spirit of America fundraiser, and recently we've merged with other teams around one of SoA's important projects. The new Team Pajamahdeen: Operation Viral Freedom team includes liberals, conservatives and centrists with a common goal: help people in the Middle East harness the power of blogging via Arabic blogging tools and reliable hosting.
We've seen what blogs can do. As a Winds reader, you've seen it too. Interesting post here by Ethan Zuckerman on the difficulty of adapting Arabic to the internet & the computer age generally. Curious: how did SoA resolve the types of issues Zuckerman talks about (dialects, alignment, etc.)?
I am also on a broadband connection and WoC loads almost instantaneously. You did well!
