I little while ago, I noted that a couple of my friends' children were considering enlistment in the U.S Armed Forces. Yesterday, I received this from Donald Sensing:
"As a retired military officer (Major, U.S. Army), I am empowered to administer the oath to persons enlisting in the Armed Forces. Today I had the privilege of enlisting my son, Stephen, into the United States Marine Corps. To see it online, click here. "Stephen has signed up to be a tank crewman. A big day at the Sensings, needless to say... and all of our best wishes and congratulations from the team here at Winds of Change!

I can only imagine the pride. My husband swore in our son to the USNR. After he graduated from OCS, my husband swore him in as an officer. It was an amazing sight to see the Colonel (USAF) and the Ensign salute and then hug one another. The pride is overwhelming. Our son is currently at BUD/S and if all goes well, will pin his Trident on as a Navy SEAL in May of 2004.
There is an amazing generation of young people that will soon be in charge. I, personally, am in awe of our younger generation. I think that the future of the United States will be in good hands.
