Wizbang's 2004 Blog Awards are in their nomination phase. Thanks to Dave Schuler for submitting one nomination for Winds in the Group Blog category, and if we qualify we now have one nomination in the Canadian blogs category as well. Feel free to drop by yourself and add any nomination votes you think appropriate (note that in the TLB Ecosystem, Winds is in the Top 100 blog category).
Can't believe there are no Centrist blog, Business blog, WarBlog, or MilBlog categories. Anyway, I also took the time to recognize and nominate a few of our own authors:
- Simon World (E. Asia Briefing) and The Marmot's Hole (Korea briefing) were already nominated in the Asia category, so I gave them their props and made sure The Argus and its excellent Central Asia coverage (Nathan does our '-stans Summary' briefing) was added to the nominees.
- Randy Paul's Beautiful Horizons (Latin America briefing) was added in the Best Mexican or Central/South American Blog category.
- Colt, who does our Thursday Winds of War, is based in the UK. Eurabian Times nominated for best UK blog.
- If you haven't seen Marten Barck's WATCH blog re: the war on Terror, you're missing out. Marten blogs from Sweden, and ought to be a serious contender in the European blogs category if there's any justice.
- Wanted to nominate AfricaPundit in the Africa/MidEast category, but other than our Africa briefings his blogging is on hiatus. So I'll just say "thanks" right here.
- New blog category... too many blogkids (in facxt, nearly all of them qualify). We love you all, and readers should consider nominating folks The Glittering Eye, Canis Iratus, Correct-Amundo, The Flying Kiwi, Hot Needle of Inquiry, Praktike's Place, and Surround-A-Blog.

You're very welcome, Joe. And, since I have no shame, I nominated The Glittering Eye in its Ecosystem category.
Well, end the suspense, man! Since they do it by number... what category are you in?
Thanks, Joe!
