Well, we have a contest winner! The proprietor of Blaster's Blog suggested "Winds of War," and the competition ended immediately. Blaster, you're a genius... and your post about House Majority Leader Tom DeLay utterly eviscerating that French twit in India was priceless!
Folks, there's little question now that war is imminent. In an effort to bring y'all some of the more interesting pieces out there without cramping the team's style, I've started putting each day's interesting links in one post of short listings. We'll add to it (at the top of the list) as we come across good new material during the day. C'mon back and check in now and again, and spread the word!
If you think your blog has a worthy post in this area, feel free to let me know and I'll come take a look.
- Steven Den Beste discusses likely attack strategies re: Iraq. Got one of my own in the pipe, which will discuss the concept of a "measels strategy" on D-Day. You'll see it on Monday.
- This is outrageously stupid. What's the point of issuing protective suits against chemical agents, then letting the troops drink poisoned water? Hellooooo!!!
- Speaking of which, have you got a "Bug Out Kit" put together yet? Armed Liberal has your list today, in another awesome public service posting. So proud to have this guy aboard...
- Sofia Sideshow explains why the modern Left is G-d's gift to the Right. This is excellent, a major league piece. (Hat Tip: Merde in France)
- Exhibit A in proof of this thesis: Radical Leftist Rabbi Michael Lerner is shut out an anti-war demonstration by the Kim Jong-Il, Slobodan Milosevic, and Tienanmen Square fans at ANSWER. Anti-Semitism? Absolutely. Other major organizers of the demonstration go along with this.
- New Europe: Romania will deploy 278 troops, including those specializing in nuclear, biological and chemical decontamination, de-mining, as well as military police and medical assistance. They also gave the USA permission to use their airspace and bases. The vote? 351-0, with 74 abstentions.
- Old Europe: One more piece of evidence that France's pain has just begun.
- But German Chancellor Schroder's pain might be ending. Soon. Ooh, this is gonna hurt too.
- Foreign Minister Fischer doesn't get off easy, either.
- Faithful allies? How did the USA do in the Falklands War? Junius is asking. (Hat Tip: Calpundit)
- The Philippines expels an Iraqi diplomat for his contacts with a Muslim terrorist group. There's a fairly serious dust-up happening there right now, and the jihadis are in for some thrashing.
- Team-mate Armed Liberal had a bit of an epiphany last night. Not the middle-aged dating advice (though it's good), but his Israeli-Palestinian thoughts. See the comments, too, where I extend his points in pure liberalspeak. The Berlitz courses are going well, thanks for asking.
- Cold Fury's Mike Hendrix is humbled by Suman Palit: " I did not spend a greater part of my life working my fingers to the bone to come to America, and then to build a new life for myself and my family, to enjoy and cherish the special freedoms that are the hallmark of this country, only to watch an intellectually effete elite barter it all away..." It gets better.
- Parapundit looks at the breakup of NATO, happening before our eyes like a slow-motion train wreck. Thorough and well researched, as usual.
- Truth Laid Bear is still taking links and submissions in the Great Iraq Cross-Blog Debate. Be ye pro or anti, there's a set of questions for you. More pros than antis so far, including Cold Fury (post I | post 2).
- Another passionate article comes from Iraqi dissident Kanan Makiya, who asks the West to "help us get our country back." (Hat Tip: Andrew Sullivan)
- On which topic, Bargarz has an excellent set of links about Iraq Post-Saddam. Dean Esmay takes it one step further, and points us to an important speech by Under Secretary of Defense Douglas Feith.
- But only Jay Manifold of "A Voyage to Arcturus" would actually go do the math, and cost out a 20-year occupation. (Hat Tip: Vodkapundit, who's on a Fisking roll today)
- You know we always end with a smile. Scrappleface knows what Osama really fears.

The Philipine Army "has just begun to fight", but it would be wise to stop waltzing into ambushes while they are at it.
