The Council of Watchers has voted Zimbabwe Changed My Mind: Guns Are a Human Right as its best non-council blog post of the week. You may want to check out some other nominees. My favourites:
- The Council blogs' winner What's the Real Question in America?, soundly fisks Fred Hiatt of the Washington Post for his narcissistic Gitmo editorial. Yeah, I wasn't too thrilled either.
- Gates of Vienna's the Slave Owner's Bookstore. Dymphna blogs a lot on the subject of women in Islam - this story concerns a Saudi couple in Colorado up on serious criminal charges for... basically, treating their Indonesian maid the way they would in Saudi Arabia. Needless to say, no charges would be forthcoming there.
- Democratic Peace blog is by award-winning Prof. R.J. Rummel, an expert on government-sponsored democides (i.e. peacetime mass murder). When he writes about The Real Gulag, it's wise to listen up.

Here are some quick tips for adding simple Textile formatting to your comments, though you can also use proper HTML tags:
*This* puts text in bold.
_This_ puts text in italics.
bq. This "bq." at the beginning of a paragraph, flush with the left hand side and with a space after it, is the code to indent one paragraph of text as a block quote.
To add a live URL, "Text to display":http://windsofchange.net/ (no spaces between) will show up as Text to display. Always use this for links - otherwise you will screw up the columns on our main blog page.
